Fenton Chronicle

Digitizing our History in the 21st Century

With the advent of digital photography and the ease of making digital images available on the internet, it only seems reasonable to begin a series of albums to preserve the historical information passed down from generation to generation.

We give thanks to all of those families who have so generously supplied these photos and other information.

The Narratives

There is something special about information passed down from people who actually experienced an event.

Hopefully, these stories on the links you find here will enrich your understanding of the era in which they were told.  We welcome additional factual stories you may wish to have included.  No information will be used that is not a positive representation of those individuals or events.

Cemeteries

This is a work-in-progress.  The individuals responsible for record keeping at both Port Crane and North Fenton Cemeteries have been wonderful in sharing the information.  I will be adding to these files as time permits.  For information on purchasing graves, please contact  Mr. John Eldred, President of Port Crane

Cemetery Association (607) 648-8000.  I do not know who to call regarding North Fenton.

Chenango Valley Cemetery in Hillcrest has also been most receptive in sharing the information, however, the size of the cemetery and the amount of time it will take to put it all in a database is daunting.  I would suggest taking a look at :
